Boeing VMC
Boeing is under construction with its Virtual Manufacturing Center. In addition to improving Boeing-Heath's competitiveness, the VMC could become an aerospace product development mecca for the aerospace industry in Ohio.

Samuel Manu-Tech
In 2007, Samuel Manu-Tech opened a new $14 million state-of-the-art steel fabrication facility on the COATC South Campus. New jobs are slated for Heath.

Infrastructure Upgrades
The second stage of infrastructure improvements to the South Campus is now complete. A May 2007 ribbon cutting ceremony saw a major roadway extension open, linking two of Central Ohio's largest industrial parks together.

The Port Authority is recognized for its management, development, and leadership roles.

Governor Recognizes Innovation, Creativity
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland visited the COATC to tour the Boeing Virtual Manufacturing Center. His visit focused on workforce innovation and creativity.

Chamber Tours Samuel Manu-Tech
For the first time, Samuel Manu-Tech opened the doors to its new, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant to the general public. The tour with community leaders was part of a Chamber of Commerce-led tour of industrial sites and buildings.

The COATC is well-represented in the state capitol to show support for the aerospace industry in Ohio.

D.C. Fly-In Set
Recognizing the importance of "cementing relationships to cement jobs," the public-private partnership that epitomizes the Port Authority coordinated a series of meetings with key Ohio Congressional delegation members and staff.

Projects Advance
Construction season begins for the Port Authority with business development projects advancing along with future-looking capital improvements getting underway. Over $6 million is budgeted for capital improvements in 2008.

Topping the List, Again
The COATC retained its status among the Top 25 largest industrial parks in Central Ohio, ranking 14th according to the March 2008 list published by Columbus Business First.

Virtual Center a Reality
On the heels of an announcement of a $200,000 state grant, Boeing revealed plans for a new real-time visualization and 3-D modeling system to be called the Virtual Manufacturing Center. The VMC promises to revolutionize the Boeing-Heath operations at COATC and is viewed as a aerospace product development mecca for hundreds of Boeing suppliers in Ohio and the Midwest.
