New Building

By the second quarter of 2011, the Port Authority expects to open the doors on a new 43,461 sq. ft. new office and clean room building. A ceremonial groundbreaking was held on May 18, 2010 for a project expected to be fully underway by late June 2010.

The state-of-the-art building doubles as a local economic stimulus as the Port Authority is choosing to invest in building now versus waiting for the economic recovery to come about. The project is financed through Recovery Zone Facility Bonds issued with a locally-headquartered bank, Park National Bank. The contractor is also local--Robertson Construction of Heath.

A few key points:

The modern, two-story office building will be built near the entrance to the Port Authority-owned Boeing building.

The location gives access to Boeing capabilities, such as the new virtual manufacturing lab, stable piers, and an azimuth reference capable of precision measurement by the arcsecond.

The space is also accessible to the Air Force Primary Standards Laboratory maintained by Bionetics and with standards in 19 metrology disciplines and commercially-certified testing capabilities.

An over 8,200 sq. ft. adjacent building will be built as a shell but able to accept clean room build-outs. Up to five clean room "modules" are available.

The entire facility is in a HubZone giving occupants a possible leg up on defense and other federal contracts.
