South Campus Storm Sewer--COMING SOON
This project is currently in the planning stage with the design contract expected to started in June 2010. Work will involve installing a storm sewer from the area North of Kaiser Drive to a point somewhere along James Parkway and is expected to go out to bid later this summer.
South Campus Waterline Extension--COMING SOON
This project involves installation of approximately 1400 + feet of 12” water main with associated taps and hydrants South of Kaiser Drive to support development of that area East of James Parkway. Design work by Jobes Henderson has been completed and bids will be solicited in June.
James Parkway Extension--COMPLETE
The entire 350-acre Aerospace & Technology Center campus is now fully shovel-ready thanks to the third, and final, phase of infrastructure investments.
A contract was awarded in January 2009 to Layton Excavating for a $2.9 million roadway and bridge project connecting the South Campus and Base Campus of the COATC. On September 21, 2009 the project opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Track the history of the project online at FeelTheImpact.com.
Sanitary Sewer Extensions--COMPLETE
The City of Heath, as part of joint OPWC project with the Port Authority, has contracted with Law General Contracting to install city sanitary sewer line extensions to two locations on the South Campus. Sites off of Kaiser Drive will have sanitary sewer service capabilities when this project is completed.
Electric Utility Extensions--COMPLETE
A second stage of a power loop was completed in 2008 that offers greater reliability for COATC customers. American Electric Power completed the first major electric line extension for the South Campus in April 2006. The 34.5kV, three-phase power is looped from two different circuits with proximity to several different electric substations.
